This unique cobalt blue remains in a few rare works from the 12th and 13th centuries, such as "Notre Dame de la Belle-Verrière" in the cathedral. Monseigneur Fleury, then Bishop of Chartres, wanted this wing of the house in the 18th century to provide the bishopric with official reception rooms for the Church.
